WELCOME HOME ADULT FOSTER CARE HOME
Wow I have not blogged in almost a week. It's been an extremely stressful week. We had to place my mother-in-law in an Adult Foster Care home. The one we picked is lovely as you can see in the picture above. But there is obviously no place like home! I was with her the night before we took her and it was so sad. Kind of like a death. She has dementia and was not doing well at all. The day we took her she was the sharpest she had been in a week. So of course now we are second guessing ourselves but we are lucky she didn't fall because she couldn't even remember to use her walker.
We went to see her on Saturday and the Elsie Dairy Days festival was going on. Charlie bought Doris a hat as you can see in the above picture. He bought me a real cute purse. But it was a very hard visit because Doris is miserable. It's so hard when the roles reverse and the child has to parent the parent. The staff is wonderful and she really likes them. The owner is a lovely Christian women who does a bible study with them. I know she will be well taken care of and we will just have to take in one day at a time.
