THE RAILROAD TRAIL
Isn't this weather jut gorgeous! Abby and I have been walking along the old railroad tracks most nights. You see there are no more tracks but there is a trail. They are planning on eventually making it a Rail to Trails. It will be nice to have a decent place to walk. Abby loves her walks! I let her go on her own until I see another dog then she goes on the leach. Last July I was holding her while a gal and her dog walked by, and then realized I knew the gal and put my guard down and started talking to her. The next thing I know I was being dragged along the gravel as Abby tried to get to the other dog. There is nothing like being slammed to the ground! My body hurt for a week and not only that I know have a bent middle finger. I went to the Doctor and a specialist and braced it but nothing worked. I also had the biggest purple bruise on my hip bone! Needless to say I didn't walk along the tracks for the rest of the year I was too afraid. But we are back and enjoying it. There is a little stream that Abby takes a drink from. One day a dear ran out in front of us and Abby ran after her but the dear left her in the dust. Once in awhile she gets to chase rabbits. Normally she listens and will stop when I tell her to. We walk to DeWitt road and back which is two miles. Oh dear I had to get out the shorts! I really need to walk longer and more often so that my shorts will fit better. When you are short like me (not even five feet) there is no where to carry any extra weight......well there is and it doesn't look good!.................and I'm not going to post a picture to show you!
You see Abby racing home to find Charlie on the front porch. Then I let her in the house and she flops on the kitchen floor. While we are out walking, Zack makes himself comftorable on the bed. Doesn't he look funny!
