CO-CREATING WITH GOD CONFERENCE
Linda, Catherine, Debbie and I attended a conference celebrating 40 years since the document
Humanae Vitae was printed. It's a beautiful life affirming document that spells out why contraception is immoral and a danger to society and the family! Forty years later and look what contraception has done to the family and to society.
Marriage is about being two people giving themselves in "self donation''. Marriage is a symbol of the Holy Trinity. God the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are a communion of persons. God made man and women so they could come together and also become a communion of persons by being open to life. Hence a symbol of the Holy Spirit. But when a couple uses contraception they are shutting God off. The couples marriage is also a symbol of the cross and Eucharist. In both acts Jesus made a complete gift of his body and blood to us so that we might
have life; likewise in marriage, spouses make a complete gift of their body and blood to each other so that there may be life.
Sex speaks a language. Our body speaks a language and when a married couple uses contraception they are refusing to give themselves completely to each other.........hence look at statistics and how the family is breaking down. Those who use Natural Family planning have I think a 3% divorce rate compared to the general public which is up to 60%. Those who have sex out side of marriage are lying with their bodies! Sex is not meant to be casual or for entertainment. Sex is sacred and is meant for marriage and to be open to the gift of children. Being co-creators with God................WOW!
Here are some of the high lights. Greg and Julie Alexander were living the American dream and
accumulating a lot of wealth but they were miserable. They had their boy and girl then he got "fixed" after being urged by the doctor. They noticed that it was after this that there marriage really started falling apart. They both wanted a divorce but their pastor challenged them to read Human Vitae and it changed their lives! The Church knows what it is doing! It's only when we follow Jesus and his Church that we can truly be free. Greg had his vasectomy reversed and now they have 6 children. Their oldest son is a missionary and their youngest is only 2 months old and was at the conference. You can learn about their ministry by clicking on their names above.
I also was very impressed with Bishop Carlson from the Saginaw diocese. He is a true disciple of Christ and stands up for the truth. That diocese was a mess after the previous bishop. They had no vocations and now they are getting them. He was so inspiring to listen to. He has come out with a neat little book explaining what the church teaches about birth control and why it is not good. You can down load a little booklet he created on the subject here. I challenge you to read what the churches teaches and the truth will set you free! Our Lord promises us! He can be trusted I promise!
