MEXICAN VACATION:AKUMAL BEACH

Charlie and I had a great time in Akumal Beach Mexico.  The beach was gorgeous and the resort small enough that it almost felt like our own private beach at times.  Our room looked right over the ocean.  Charlie requested the third floor so that we would have a great view.  The little town was very close and safe.  The food was also good.  They had a salad selection that I was very happy with.

The snorkeling is suppose to be the best around.  Many people who come back to the area repeated this over and over again.  If we go back I will have to make myself snorkel.  I'm so unadventurous!  The Tulum Ruins are just down the road but we have already been there so we didn't go again.

Below is a local artist that paints with his fingers.  We looked at some of his work and told him what we wanted and the price..........$20!  What a deal and such a nice keep sake.  It's our second one.

Here is a good description of our resort:

Akumal Beach Resort is a full oceanfront, all-inclusive beach property featuring 241 rooms, 2 tennis courts, shuffle board, beach volley ball, kids club, a theater, kayaks, archery, 3 restaurants, 3 bars, and 2 swimming pools overlooking the beachfront and the tranquil waters of Akumal Bay; the “Bay of Turtles”.

The resort offers one of the finest beaches anywhere. With over a kilometer of beautiful white sandy beach. One of the main attractions at the resort is the world-class snorkeling with sea turtles and a great variety of life that thrives within the live coral reef just steps from your room.

The atmosphere in Akumal captivates the spirit of a laid back Mexican beach side town
