HEAVEN IS FOR REAL

I recently read this lovely little book.  He survived an emergency appendectomy, which in it self was a miracle but what he slowly revealed later was even more miraculous.  This is a little description of the book:

A young boy emerges from life-saving surgery with remarkable stories of his visit to heaven. Heaven Is for Real is the true story of the four-year old son of a small town Nebraska pastor who during emergency surgery slips from consciousness and enters heaven. He survives and begins talking about being able to look down and see the doctor operating and his dad praying in the waiting room. The family didn't know what to believe but soon the evidence was clear.Colton said he met his miscarried sister, whom no one had told him about, and his great grandfather who died 30 years before Colton was born, then shared impossible-to-know details about each. He describes the horse that only Jesus could ride, about how "really big" God and his chair are, and how the Holy Spirit "shoots down power" from heaven to help us.Told by the father, but often in Colton's own words, the disarmingly simple message is heaven is a real place, Jesus really loves children, and be ready, there is a coming last battle.

What I found especially interesting in this book is that all the adults were no older than the age of 30........33?  The age Jesus was when he died. He had seen his dad's granddad and spent time with him.  But when his father showed him a picture of him (60 when he died) Colton did not recognize him.  He told his dad that there was no one old in heaven.  So his father showed him a picture of his granddad when he was around 30 and Colton immediately recognized him!

His mother had had a miscarriage that Colton had never known about.  The little girl introduced herself to Colton.  For me as a Catholic this confirms that we can ask those who have gone before us to pray for us.  They are not dead!  So why not ask them to help us?  Just like we ask those here on earth to pray for us.  I've heard people say why do you ask the dead to pray for you!  Excuse me but they are not dead! They are living more in the fullness of life than we are!

It's an enjoyable read and thought provoking.  I highly recommend it!
