FRIENDS FOREVER!

Linda and I had such a wonderful time when we visited our childhood friends, Sandy and Carol.  They lived on our block from 1966 until 1970. We played all the time and one of our fondest memories is  having sleep overs  in the back our our station wagons!  Would parents even let their

kids sleep in the back of their cars anymore

On Friday night Sandy had invited over other family members, including their mom Cleo.  It was so nice! It was fun seeing Carol and Sandy's daughter's and their families!  Their sister Laurie and her children where there as well.  It was so heart warming to catch up on their lives!

On Saturday we went  down town to Traverse City and to the old mental institution which now has gifts shops in it.  They even had a bar called , Left Foot Charely's.   Don't tell him but I picked up a little gift for him for his Birthday:)  I must admit being in there pushed some of my buttons because my father was mentally ill and in and out of the Veteran's hospitals.  My heart breaks for all those who suffer in this way but I know slowly we are making progress.

Saturday night we went out to dinner and then had one class of wine and continued to tell stories of our childhood.  We laughed so much!  What a gift we had been to each other all those years ago. We ended our weekend having coffee with our host Sandy before she went to her church and we went to the Church of the Immaculate Conception. 

What a gift from God friendships are!  We will visit again Sand and Carol!
