James Joseph (Marion) Biewer Graduates

James Biewer is the son of Charles and Linda Biewer; he is the second eldest in a family of six children. Throughout his homeschooled education—primarily in high school—James has been drawn to a love of Catholic Apologetics (Theology) and the systematic study of existence and human experience (Philosophy). James has been especially influenced in these areas by the thought and writings of many renowned, mostly Catholic, theologians, philosophers, and apologists among whom are: Blessed John Paul II, St. Thérèse of Lisieux, G. K. Chesterton, C. S. Lewis, Dr. Peter Kreeft, Dr. Scott Hahn, Christopher West, and many noteworthy others. James has enjoyed many activities throughout his homeschooled life some of which are being a member of 4-H for 9 years; being a member of the Homeschoolers4Life pro-life club for 5 years; attending 5 operas through the Operatunity program in Grand Rapids; attending four Steubenville Youth Conferences; attending two Lansing Catholic Men’s Conferences; and attending two Diocesan Jamborees. James is very grateful for his Catholic homeschooled upbringing, most of all for being given the opportunity to pursue Jesus Christ, the truth, in study, scripture, and sacrament ad libitum. James has taken two years of Latin and is interested in possibility of learning the Romance Languages. He plans on attending either Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, or Ave Maria University in Florida in the fall with the intention to major in Theology and Philosophy. James believes that he may be called to some sort of Catholic apologetics in the future; he is currently discerning his vocation. As to his career and calling, he has the conviction that whatever they may be, he wants to uphold and embrace the Catholic Legacy which has been handed down to him.
