LANSING DIOCESE CATHOLIC WOMEN'S CONFERENCE
This was an awesome conference...........it was so Catholic imagine that! The theme was Transforming Love. We went Friday night and heard an inspiring talk and the the rest of the night was made up of fun events. Linda, Anna, Catherine and I spent the night at the Best Western Plus where the conference was being held. Anna and Catherine were selling T shirts for their prolife group, Homeschoolers 4 Life.
The conference started at 8am on Saturday and the Master of Ceremonies was Erin Looby-Carlson. She was fun and full of life and a young mother of 4 sons! The featured speaker was Teresa Tomeo and she did not disappoint! She calls it as it is and I loved her giving a lashing to the liberal media and all the lies they promote. She also talked about the dangers of the birth control pill and how it has duped women.
The most powerful session for me was the Forgiveness speakers. Check out this video on how Amy
O'Rourke forgave the man who killed her husband who was a policeman. Eileen Craig had 3 abortions and had to learn to forgive herself. Mike and Martia Martin forgive the girl who fell a sleep at the wheel and ended up killing their daughter.
When we forgive we set ourselves free. When we refuse go give we are in bondage. If Jesus Christ has forgiven us who are we not to forgive others. I personally know it can be a long and painful process. But it's important that we take the first step.
There were two inspiring drama's presented by Magic Carep Theatre.....At his Feet Women in Scripture.
The music was provided by Melanie Rea and her group. It was so beautiful and I bought her new CD called One Desire. She graduated from the Franciscan University of Steubenville.
The last speaker was Father James Kubicki SJ who spoke about the Sacred Heart of Jesus. So catholic I loved it!
All and all it was a delight! Oh did I mention that the blessed sacrament was there for us to spend time with your Lord and there were priest there all day so we could go to confession. There were women in line the whole time! It was beautiful! I can't wait for next years and I plan on telling other about it!
